WHAT INFLUENCED YOU INTO A LIFE OF CRIME?
I've never been a criminal. I've got no criminal convictions and I've never been charged with anything really, just a couple of little things. What influenced me was a geezer called Dave Courtney having a go at the system.
WHAT WAS YOUR MOST TERRIFYING MOMENT?
There's been a few actually. Taking Dave home when he was four days late and knowing that Jennie had the hump. Dave said to me "Come in and have a cup of tea". I said "bollocks", drove on a way and dropped him off at the end of the road.
DO YOU HAVE ANY REGRETS?
Yes, I regret now my son's sixteen, not seeing him through his life. I lost touch with him when he was two, although that wasn't what I wanted. Now, I don't feel it's right to contact him until his education is finished. He's in a stable environment and he's doing very well. The last thing I'm gonna do is interfere with that. I'm told he's extremely intelligent and shrewd, he's athletic and in the football team and I don't want to fuck any of that up for him, you know what I mean? I've waited this long, waiting another eighteen months will not actually be that hard. But it's a moment I'm really looking forward to.
WHO WAS YOUR IDOL?
The only person I've idolised in my life is my Dad, more than anything else. His influence on me at certain stages of my life made me and gave me the opportunities to do what I've done.
WHAT WAS YOUR TOUGHEST MOMENT?
Witnessing me Dad's heart being broken by my Mum.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGH POINT OF YOUR LIFE?
The day I walked into Bow Street magistrates court with fifty grand in cash, watched Dave beat up a serving police officer in a court jester's outfit and then see how corrupt the police were in that they didn't dare charge him for it - and they know why. They knew that Dave would beat him up; Dave told me and the police that he would do it if they put him next to Warnes and he also told me that they would not dare charge him for a reason. That for me was my proudest moment,
'cos I've been fighting with these people all through my life. I saw how corrupt they were at a young age and I've witnessed serious corruption. That's why Dave is important to me. He knew what it's about and he knew how to fuck them. We are paying a high price for it now and being punished for it, but that, for me, was the proudest moment for what I wanted in my life. If there was another day it was when I gave evidence that sent Austin Warnes to prison at the Old Bailey.
WHAT THREE WORDS DESCRIBE YOU BEST?
"A complete cunt." [me: "I know that's not true Bren". Brendan: "Yeah, but you might as well put that down, yeah?"] or "A real soldier".
WHAT IS YOUR MOST PRIZED POSSESSION?
My old man has to be and the people I love.
WHAT WAS YOUR MOST RELIABLE WEAPON?
HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED?
I don't give a fuck, just remember me.
WHAT IS YOUR PRESENT JOB TITLE?
I'm a director of a plant hire company.
DESCRIBE A TYPICAL SATURDAY NIGHT IN YOUR LINE OF WORK?
Go out smartly dressed, try and find the dirtiest bird you can in the shortest period of time. If you can get her to blow you there in the club then excellent. If not, get her home and get her fucked in the quickest time possible. Sometimes I even have time for a drink or two.
