Celebrity gangster to back Leukaemia awareness
and talk at Tavern
REFORMED gangster and inspiration for British film 'Rise of the
Footsoldier' Carlton Leach is set to back a Leukaemia campaign
and tell tales of the underworld at a Thurrock venue.
The former West Ham hooligan and bouncer will be holding an
audience with evening at the Circus Tavern, Meads Corner,
Purfleet on June 28.
Carlton has turned his life around and wants to do his bit
within the community to help youngsters of today who may have or
are already involved in the drug scene and knife and gun
culture.
The evening will start at 7pm and finish late.
Public tickets are available from the ticket hot lines at Circus
Tavern 01708 864001/867271/863838 or at Carlton's online shop
www.carltonleach.com.
Carlton will also be supporting the Jamie Saunders Leukaemia
Awareness Campaign.
Dad of three Jamie, 24, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of
Leukaemia last month and is now fighting for his life at St
Bartholomew's Hospital, London.
Jamie, who is originally from Roach, East Tilbury but now lives
in Pitsea, has always been a fan of the likes of Carlton Leach
and celebrity gangster Dave Courtney and plans are being made
for them to visit his bedside.
There will also be an auction of signed merchandise from both
Carlton and Dave with proceeds being donated to the Leukaemia
Awareness Campaign.
Jamie's brother Wesley, 27, of Laburnum Drive, Corringham, said:
"Jamie will be delighted with the association of Carlton and
Dave to this Leukaemia Awareness campaign.
"Jamie is a huge fan of both and this just goes to show you that
these two have an unquestionable heart of gold.
"On behalf of Jamie and the family, we would like to thank them
for their support and will help the event by promoting this to
members of the 'Jamie Saunders Leukaemia Awareness group' on
Facebook."
